Abstract

This review focuses on strategies for staying hydrated in tropical climates, using Adamawa State, Nigeria, as a case study. The paper begins by discussing the importance of hydration and the factors that can affect hydration levels, including climate, physical activity, and diet. Strategies for staying hydrated, such as monitoring fluid intake and output, consuming water and other beverages, consuming foods and supplements that maintain hydration levels, and maintaining electrolyte balance, are also discussed. The paper then presents a case study of Adamawa State, including its climate and weather patterns, health challenges related to dehydration, cultural and social factors affecting hydration practices, existing hydration strategies, and potential areas for improvement. The review concludes by discussing the implications of the findings for public health in tropical climates and suggesting future research and interventions to improve hydration levels in these regions. Improving hydration practices in tropical climates is essential for promoting public health and reducing the burden of dehydration-related health conditions. A comprehensive approach that considers the complex interplay of social, cultural, economic, and environmental factors is needed to address this challenge effectively.
