Abstract

The purpose of this study was to find out the effects of cultural diversity on the performance of multinational construction firms. The study was guided by the following objectives; to measure the level of performance of the Multinational construction firms, to assess the extent of National cultural dimension practices in the Multinational construction firm, in the multinational construction firms in Gombe State, to determine the effects of National cultural dimensions practices on the performance of the multinational construction firms. A descriptive quantitative research method was used. Primary data was collected using a five Likert Scale questionnaire. The questionnaire was distributed to various multinational construction firms in Gombe state. Data collected through questionnaire was entered into SPSS 23 statistical software and analyzed by descriptive statistics. Simple Random Sampling technique was used to select a population sample from the entire employee population. Descriptive statistics was used to analyze data. Regression analysis was used to establish the relationship between employee cultural diversity and organizational performance. And the result shows Nigerian National cultural dimension is high especially on masculinity/femininity, because most of the respondent agreed men are more preferable to take more responsibility than women. Ability of managers to foresee and mitigate conflict and misunderstanding arising from cultural diversity help in gluing the team which enhance organizational and team performance.
